First Annual Bewitching Burlesque Mid Summer Masquerade at the Carrollton Plaza Arts Center!

Bewitching Burlesque is excited to announce the First Annual Mid Summer Masquerade Event Aug. 8 at 8 p.m at the Plaza Arts Center in Carrollton. This Burlesque revue and costume pageant will showcase the some of the best in Texas burlesque, unique vendors and feature a stunning costume pageant.

Awards for costumes include: “Most Outrageous,” “Most Glamorous,” “Most Debonair,” “Crowd Favorite” and the crowned title: “Most Bewitching”

The burlesque show will feature performances by Black Mariah and Ginger Valentine of Dallas, Ruby Joule from Austin, Michelle Max, Erin Go Bruaghless, Benni, Trixie Toxic and Elisa along with our lovely debutantes- to be announced latter.

Producers GlamAmour and Pixie O'Kneel have successfully produced two other sold out burlesque revues in Dallas. Known for featuring new talent in addition to established performers, these women are key players in the growing burlesque community in DFW.

Costume Guide Lines:

Most Glamorous: Female/Feminine – does not mean that you are female- just feminine and dressed to impress with glamorous beauty.

Most Debonair: Male/Masculine- does not mean that you are male, just in a masculine costume and dressed to impress with your “muy macho” and yes, you can be macho in a skirt… we’ve seen it…and drooled over it….

Most Outrageous: Neither of the above- creative, comedic and/or crazy fun

Crowd Favorite: Crowd will vote at voting stations at the event

Most Bewitching: the costume that the judges are most enchanted by


Costume rules: We ask only that areas that would be covered by a string bikini would be covered by non transparent fabric. Other than that, you imagination is the limit!

Do I have to be mostly naked? No, not at all. We are looking for your best efforts to impress us- however it is you feel most impressive.
Does Body paint count? Body paint is lovely, and when done well, a great costume – just please be sure to have non transparent fabric over areas that would be covered by a string bikini.
Do pasties count?: Very large pasties- yes that is fine.
Is a merkin ok? No, we don’t want any “accidents” with tape coming unstuck.
Will I be turned away if I did not follow the rules: Yes, without a refund.
